The ABC Tour

The Dublin Tour Company’s ABC Tour is a combination of the 2 flagship tours (Cliffs of Moher & The Burren/Connemara & Cong) and a day trip to The Aran Islands. With optional 2 nights Galway City Centre Hostel accommodation & Dublin-Galway Return Coach on our own shuttle service – easy as ABC!

The ABC Tour includes the following:

Accommodation Details:

You can add accommodation to your ABC Tour when booking based on shared Dormitory Accommodation in a Galway City Centre Hostel (Barnacles, Kinlay , Galway City Hostel, Savoy, Snoozles or Sleepzone). Early notification by e-mail of preference for, all-female or shared dorm accommodation will be referred to the relevant hostel and allocated where available.

Wave goodbye to Dublin as we depart for the Wild West!

Arrive in Galway and begin a relaxing guided walk of this charming medieval city. Hear the Legends of the Claddagh, Spanish Arch & St. Nick’s Church. See Castle and the Old City Walls with stories to tell, and much, much more… all with a local guide.

1 hour of Free Time in Galway City before we leave for the Cliffs of Moher

Arrive at The Cliffs of Moher for Highlight of the day, enjoy 2 HOURS of walking and exploring.

Depart the Cliffs and head for lunch Mmmmm.

Arrive at our Lunch stop, time for a Chowder, or famous Irish Stew, maybe a pint before we go 🙂

Back to your coach and on to the “Baby Cliffs” with spectacular views over the Aran Islands and Connemara before travelling the “Wild Atlantic Way” back to Galway.

Arrive in Galway and begin your trip to the Cliffs of Moher via Dun Guaire Castle and Kinvara, then on to Ballyvaughan, where we pass the 2000 year old magical Fairy Fort of Bally Alban. Next we’ll visit Poulnabrone Dolmen, one of the most ancient religious sites in Ireland at 5800 years old, before stopping at Kilfenora for an exclusive visit of the Celtic High Crosses.

Arrive in the quaint fishing village of Doolin to enjoy some lunch (try the famous Seafood Chowder at Gus O’Connor’s or some delicious fudge from the Doolin Chocolate Shop!)

Arrive at the Cliffs of Moher. This is the highlight of the day with ample time to walk the cliff edge and enjoy one of the most incredible natural sites in the world!

Depart Cliffs of Moher returning to Galway via the Coast Road with spectacular views over the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.

Includes the entry fee to the eco-friendly Cliffs of Moher visitor centre.

After visiting many amazing and ancient sites on your tour will arrive back in Galway at 18:00 approx., you will then get to enjoy all that Galway City has to offer by way of people, food, music and pure craic!

DAY TWO:

Summer Special! from the 1st of April to the 31st of September

Join Aran Tour Company to visit The Aran Islands on day 2 of your ABC Tour.

Check in at 08:45 before departing The Galway Coach Station at 9:00am, we will guide you south along the Wild Atlantic Way and into the lunar-like Burren region. From there we’ll head to the picturesque fishing village of Doolin where you’ll board the ferry to Inisheer (Inis Oirr) – the smallest and most vibrant of the Aran Islands.

From here you’ll be in the safe hands of The Doolin Ferry Company. Inisheer is only a 30 minute sailing from Doolin and attractions include ancient churches and castles, one of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches, a modern playground and several pubs and cafes. Take a pony and trap, hire a bicycle or stroll the peaceful boreens. The return journey is a spectacular journey which puts the 214m high, 8km long cliffs into perspective.

After returning to Doolin there will be a pause while you wait a few minute for your coach to collect you and then we will take the coast road home, following the Wild Atlantic Way. Return time in Galway is approx. 7:30pm

Winter Special! from the 1st of October to the 31st of March

09:00 Present your e-ticket at one of the Aran Island Ferries offices (located on Eyre Square and Forster St) and you will receive boarding passes for the ferry and shuttle bus.
09:30 Board the shuttle bus at Victoria Place on Queen Street (just off Eyre Square).
10:30 Ferry departs from Rossaveal Harbour to Inismore Island
10:45 Arrive on Inismore where you will have options to rent bikes or take minibus tours – island based activities are not included in your ABC ticket.
17:00 Ferry returns from Inismore to meet the shuttle bus.
19:00 Arrive back in Galway, stay in Galway City for 2nd night.

DAY THREE:

Continuing your ABC Tour check in at 09:45 in The Galway Coach Station for you departure at 10:00am for Connemara, Cong village and Kylemore Abbey Tour.

10:00 Depart from Galway and begin your fully guided tour of Connemara & Cong through the scenic Inagh Valley (with a photo stop), taking in Maam Cross and Oughterard.

The first stop is the magical Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Gardens. There is an optional admission fee (discounted price of €8 per person, tickets can be purchased in cash from your driver). Admission includes guided walks, shuttle bus to the walled gardens and entrance to the castle and mausoleum. There is also a cafe where you can purchase a hearty lunch or some homemade goodies!

Depart the Abbey and enter the wild Connemara region visiting the Killary Fjord and experiencing the stark beauty of the valleys of Connemara through the hidden Lough Nafooey route.

Arrive to Cong village and enjoy 30 minutes break where you can visit the ruins of the Old Abbey and take a walk through Cong Woods, wander the streets made famous by the Quiet Man movie or simply enjoy a coffee on the banks of Lough Corrib

The next stop is Ross Errily Friary, a hidden and atmospheric 14th century monastery, before continuing on to Galway.

Depart from Galway Coach Station onboard the Dublin/Galway Tour Company Shuttle service to Dublin, to arrive at approx. 9:00pm
